Centurion Infrastructure Group Partners with BridgePeak Energy Capital to Deliver Assured Power to Federal Installations

Centurion Infrastructure Group (“Centurion”) and BridgePeak Energy Capital (“BridgePeak”) today announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the delivery of reliable energy infrastructure on federal installations.

Centurion’s mission is to build energy infrastructure on federal installations, at speed, through automated engineering and private capital, so that base commanders have assured power for growing critical loads, allowing every installation to sustain its mission independent of the commercial grid. BridgePeak, with a portfolio of over $4.5 billion of energy project loans, provides capital across the partnership’s federal financing vehicles.

Federal energy projects typically lose years to two bottlenecks: the funding decision and the design cycle. Centurion is positioned to remove both with veteran leadership familiar with the federal processes. Automated engineering design compresses screening, siting, and preliminary design from quarters to weeks, so a decision-ready package reaches a commander inside a single planning cycle. Capital is hybrid by design, combining private financing with federal vehicles including ERCIP, ESPC, and UESC. Each project is matched to the fastest viable funding path based on the installation’s funding posture and routed through existing contracting structures, alongside prime contractors, serving utilities, and installation staff.

The partnership’s offering spans four areas:

  • Automated engineering design: screening, siting, and preliminary design delivered inside a single planning cycle.

  • Hybrid capital: private financing, ERCIP, ESPC, UESC, and blended structures, matched to each installation’s fastest path. Where assets are privately financed, the installation contracts for availability and nothing waits on an appropriation.

  • Compliance: designs built against 10 U.S.C. § 2920 availability requirements and the installation’s documented energy plan.

  • Repeatability and scale: a speed-to-resilience playbook that moves installation to installation, across a federal estate of roughly 500 installations worldwide and more than $4 billion in annual facility energy spend.

Centurion plans to license technology developed at Stanford University and is actively working on a demonstration project for base energy resilience. The institutional research spans site assessment, design, and funding-pathway development, with a decision-ready package targeted for 2027.

“During our service in the Marine Corps, Justin and I both saw the operational cost of constrained power, both domestically and abroad,” said James Campbell, co-founder and CEO of Centurion, a former Marine Corps aviator and current dual-degree student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. “Bases need assured power for commanders, at the speed the mission requires, globally.”

“Installation energy projects lose years waiting on funding decisions before design even starts,” said Justin Nabozna, co-founder and President of Centurion. “Automated engineering and private capital can remove that wait. Automated engineering can put a decision-ready package in front of a commander inside a single planning cycle, and hybrid capital can enable each project to move quickly.”

“Centurion’s model removes upfront capital expenditure by shifting costs to opex and alternative financing, while drastically accelerating design timelines,” said Shawn Andrews, CEO of BridgePeak Energy Capital. “That combination is why we structured this partnership, and why we’re confident in the pace at which Centurion and its installation partners can move.”
